Full-time law student internship
The internship is unpaid, however the intern may apply work-study, public interest law fellowship or clinical credit through their law schools to their internship.
Her Justice is a nonprofit organization that provides free legal services in family, divorce and immigration law to low-income women living in New York City. Founded in 1993, Her Justice recruits volunteer attorneys from the City’s law firms to stand side-by-side with women who cannot afford to pay for a lawyer, giving them a real chance to obtain legal protections that transform their lives. The intern will work under the direction of Her Justice staff attorneys. The intern’s assignments will vary depending on her/his interests and the program needs of Her Justice. The intern will learn basic interviewing skills through client interviews and learn substantive matrimonial, family and immigration law. Responsibilities include:
